ECOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

All business activities at Copper Mill Sevojno are carried out in accordance with legal requirements, standards, and best practices in the field of environmental protection, with the goal of minimizing and eliminating negative impacts on the environment.

Copper Mill Sevojno holds an integrated permit for the storage and treatment of non-hazardous waste—non-ferrous metals and metal scrap (copper and copper alloy waste), bronze, brass, permit number VI 504-12/23-01. We manage waste in compliance with established principles, ensuring the lowest possible risk to human health and the environment. Our Waste Management Plan defines the responsibilities and duties of employees regarding proper waste handling.

The mill treats its wastewater in an on-site treatment facility, thereby preventing any harmful impact on groundwater and surface waters. We hold a water permit for the treatment plant and the discharge of treated industrial wastewater from the facility, permit number 9107/1.

Air protection is ensured through the efficient operation of the ventilation and dust extraction systems in the Foundry.

To measure and monitor environmental impact, Copper Mill Sevojno conducts environmental monitoring of the prescribed environmental load parameters. Monitoring results are analyzed, and in the case of any identified nonconformities, appropriate technical, technological, and other measures are taken.

Employees are obliged to act in accordance with the established Integrated Management System Policy and objectives and to contribute to the prevention and reduction of the company’s environmental impact.
